What is the Med Shed?
The Med Shed is a service for lending medical equipment to Bowen Island residents for free. All equipment is lent in as-is condition for a 6 week period, free of charge. The loan period may be extended upon request and if available. No fines, fees or penalties are imposed for borrowing equipment.

- Please sanitize Med Shed items before returning them.
- Please return Med Shed items to the front desk during the Library’s open hours.

Mobility:
- Crutches
- Standard Walkers (no wheels)
- Two-wheeled walkers
- Four-wheeled walkers
- Canes
- Quad canes
- Knee scooter
- Manual wheelchairs
- MountainTrike trail wheelchair
Bathroom:
- Stationary commodes
- Raised toilet seats with arms
- Raised toilet seats without arms
- Bath seats with or without backs
- Tub transfer benches
- Tub grips
Other:
- Bed assists (support rails)
- Grabber device
- Sock assist
- Boot casts
- Pulse oximeters
- Kodiak cold therapy machines

The item I need is checked out. Where else can I look for medical equipment?
We are happy to place a hold on medical equipment for you, so you are notified when it is returned to us.
