What is SRC?
BC Summer Reading Club is a free literacy program that encourages reading throughout the summer and engages children (ages 5-14 years old).
The 2024 BC Summer Reading Club theme is called World of Curiosities. It features artwork by illustrator and artist Meneka Repka.
Register for the 50-Day Reading Challenge
Young readers can track their reading all summer with a fun booklet. Aim for at least 15 minutes of reading per day, and try your best to read on most days! For pre-readers, reading to your child also counts.
Throughout the 50-Day Challenge, kids can collect stickers for every 7 days of reading and earn a medal at the end of the summer!
Register in the Library starting June 15!
Special Events & Presentations
This summer we have special weekly presentations and guest workshops (registration required). We also have weekly in-library activities you can come do any time.
Teen Summer Book Bingo
Find out about our Teen Summer Book Bingo, get reading and win a prize!
Online Options
Like in recent years, you can also optionally participate online with the online BC SRC reading tracker app where you’ll also find weekly online activities, videos, contests, quizzes, and more.
