Children’s and Youth Services Coordinator – Two year temporary contract position 

Are you passionate about fostering a love for books, learning, and community? The Bowen Island Public Library is seeking a Children and Youth Services Coordinator to lead our programs and services for young readers and their families for the next two years.

As a key member of our team, you will design and deliver engaging programs, curate vibrant collections, and build meaningful community connections. Reporting to the Chief Librarian, you will also provide leadership to staff and volunteers while delivering excellent customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations. Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (Master’s in Library Science or Library Technician Diploma preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years experience in related work plus minimum 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Experience with collection development and cataloging.
  • Enthusiasm for community engagement and outreach.

  • Compensation $33.43 to $42.33 per hour commensurate with qualifications.
  • 20 hours per week. Includes weekend and evening hours.
  • Two year temporary contract position through to December 31, 2026
