Sign Up for a Library Card

Want to use our online resources or place a hold on library materials but don’t have a library card? Online self-registration is now available. After registering online we will confirm your registration and provide you with a permanent library card by mail.

Who Can Get a Library Card?

Free library membership is available to Bowen Island residents or taxpayers. A Library card is also free to all residents of communities within InterLINK. (Public Library InterLINK members access online subscription databases, including ebooks and e-audiobooks, through their home library website.)

To receive a Bowen Island Library card you need to register in the library with picture identification and proof of your mailing address. If you like, you may start the process at home by printing off, filling in, and bringing in our New Borrower Registration Form.

Visitors from other BC communities may also be eligible for a BC OneCard.

Library card holders’ rights and responsibilities

You are responsible for all the materials borrowed on your card and for any charges on items that are lost or damaged. (See Loan Periods and Fines for details). Your library card provides access to licensed databases from outside the library. You may also look at our catalogue from home over the Internet, and access your account to place holds, keep lists and renew items.

Lost or stolen cards

Please report the loss of your library card to the library immediately. Our phone number is 604-947-9788 or you can email us.

Replacement Card: $2.00

Change of address or password

It is important for us to have your current information. If you change your address or other personal information, contact the library and we’ll update your record.
