Join us as Katie Smith Milway reads excerpts from four of her stories about how kids can change the world- One Hen, Banana Leaf, The Good Garden, Mimi’s Village, and leads an interactive exercise and discussion with kids about how they can apply the books’ ideas to help their families, communities, and people in other parts of the world.

 

Katie Smith Milway, from Vancouver, B.C, has coordinated community development programs in Africa and Latin America for food for the hungry, consulted on village banking in Senegal with World Vision, and was a delegate to the 1992 Earth Summit. She has written books and articles on sustainability development and is currently a partner at nonprofit consulting the Bridgespan Group, based in Boston Massachusetts.
